After a couple of weeks of planning, measuring, and imagining racing lines, the moment has finally arrived: it’s time to lay down a proper Mini‑Z track!
Working Around the Space

While I have space, there are pillars that provide limitations I’ve to deal with, fortunately they are well spaced. For now, I’m keeping a dedicated area for the slot‑car track. Luckily, that track is quick to assemble and take apart, so later on I’ll be able to remove it and reclaim the space for an expanded Mini‑Z setup.
Last year, I picked up two 50 cm–tile Grand Prix Circuits and a Large Corner Set from Kyosho. With that combination, I managed to build this first layout:

Expanding the Possibilities
Initially, I assumed my options were fairly limited—after all, the room has pillars in slightly inconvenient places.
But after adding another Grand Prix Circuit , everything changed. Suddenly, new layout possibilities opened up.
Here’s some of the configurations I designed to fit within the available space while working around the pillars:

Mirroring for More Variety
Every layout can easily be mirrored to create a fresh variation without requiring more pieces. Overall, the space feels a lot less restrictive than I originally imagined.
And once the slot‑car track is out of the way… even more creative track designs become possible:

Today’s Final Choice
After exploring all these options, I decided to go with this layout for today’s session:

Let’s see how it feels!
